Earth Rune
The Earth rune is a rune in The Witcher 2 that can be set into a sword’s upgrade slot. It strengthens Geralt’s defence, giving 105% to damage reduction on block and 25 extra Vitality.
That makes it a good fit for players who parry often and want a bigger health pool. Weapons with more upgrade slots can hold several runes, and it is one of the more widely available runes in the game.
How to obtain
It is sold by Falas, Lockhart, Polycarp of Rinde, Thorak, the Mysterious Merchant (Chapters 1-3), the arena merchant and the blacksmith's helper (Chapter 2). It can also be crafted from Diagram: Earth rune with Essence of water, Elemental stone and 5 Silver ore; the diagram is sold by Lockhart, Thorak and the blacksmith's helper (Chapters 1 and 2).
