The Witcher 3 Remastered changed how Geralt’s skills work. The old separate skill lists are now four connected skill trees, and a lot of players coming back to the game are asking the same question: what’s a good build now? To help with that, Witcher Saga has a free Witcher 3 Remastered Build Planner and skill calculator that you can use right in your browser, plus a Community Builds page full of builds other players have shared.
Built for the Remastered skill trees
The planner follows the reworked system with four trees, Combat, Signs, Alchemy and General, with 20 skills each. A skill opens up once a connected skill above it has a point, just like in the game, and every point you spend also raises a small tree bonus, so a Combat-heavy build gets more Adrenaline and a Signs build regenerates Stamina faster. Skill values and tree connections are checked against the game’s own data files.
What you can do in the Build Planner
- Spend skill points. Set Geralt’s level, then click a skill to add a rank and right-click (or use the minus button on a phone) to take one back.
- Slot skills and mutagens. Only skills in active slots work in the game. Put your best skills into the four groups of three, and the planner shows which mutagen colour each group should have.
- Pick your gear. Choose a steel sword, silver sword, armor, gauntlets, trousers, boots and a crossbow from our item database. Witcher school skills count how many matching armor pieces you wear.
- Add runes and glyphs. Fill the slots on your weapons and armor with runestones and glyphs. Runewords and glyphwords are included too.
- See every bonus in one place. A summary adds up the bonuses from your skills, armor and each weapon, and lists the situational effects separately.
- Get a Synergy Score. Your build is rated out of 100 on focus, mutagen matches, armor, gear stats and active slots. You also get warnings, like a school skill that doesn’t match your armor, and suggestions, like which mutagen colour would give a group a bigger bonus.
- Save and take notes. Save builds in your browser and add notes about potions, decoctions and playstyle.
The Synergy Score is a guide built from the planner’s rules and the game’s own descriptions, not an exact damage calculation, but it’s a quick way to catch the classic mistakes, like skills with points but no slot.
Share your build as a link or an image
When your witcher is ready, “Copy build link” gives you a link that rebuilds the exact build for anyone who opens it. “Save build image” makes a card with your skills, bonuses and gear, in landscape for Reddit and Discord or portrait for phones. And if you want feedback, “Post to r/witcher3builds” opens a new Reddit post with your build link and title already filled in. When you share a build that way, the Reddit post shows a picture of your own build.
Community Builds
Every build that players share from the planner ends up in Community Builds. You can search by name, sword or mutation, filter by main skill tree, armor set and skill points (from early game to endgame), and sort by newest or most opened. One click opens a build in the planner with its full skill tree, gear and bonuses, so you can change a few things and share your own version.
Every week we pick a handful of featured builds and a Build of the Week. Sign builds built around Aard, full Griffin gear setups, alchemy builds and crossbow experiments are already in there, and there’s room for many more.
More tools for your build
Planning a build usually means hunting down gear. The Witcher Gear Tracker helps you collect the witcher school sets, our monster weaknesses guide tells you which oils, signs and bombs to bring, the Alchemy Workshop covers potions and decoctions, and the Witcher 3 Hub gathers everything else in one place. Prefer cards over swords? We also have a new Gwent deck builder (read the announcement).
Try the Build Planner and share what you come up with. If a value doesn’t match your game, for example after a later patch, tell us and we’ll fix it.
