Gwent cards laid out in rows on a candlelit tavern table

New: Witcher 3 Gwent Deck Builder With Deck Ratings and Community Decks

Every tavern on the Continent seems to have someone waiting for a round of Gwent, and sooner or later you start wondering whether your deck is actually any good. Now there’s an easy way to find out. Witcher Saga has a new Witcher 3 Gwent deck builder, free to use in your browser, and alongside it a Community Decks page where you can browse decks other players have built and shared.

Everything in the builder comes from our Gwent card database: all 181 collectible cards from the base game, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, with the right number of copies for each card.

What the deck builder does

  • Checks the rules for you. Pick a faction and a leader, then click cards to add them. The builder keeps count of the deck rules from The Witcher 3: at least 22 unit cards, no more than 10 special cards, and never more copies of a card than the game has.
  • One deck per faction. Northern Realms, Nilfgaard, Scoia’tael, Monsters and Skellige each keep their own deck, so you can switch back and forth without losing anything. The leader’s ability and the faction perk are shown above the cards.
  • Rates your deck. Every deck gets a score out of 100, split into power, card advantage, synergy and resilience, together with concrete tips. It spots half-finished Tight Bond sets, Muster cards without their partners, rows that a single weather card would wipe out and Scorch cards that could burn your own units.
  • Tests your opening hand. Deal 10 random cards and redraw two, just like at the start of a real match. It’s a quick way to see if a deck is too thin on units.
  • Shows only the cards you own. Tick off your cards on our Gwent card checklist, and the builder can hide everything you haven’t collected yet. No account needed, it reads the checklist saved in your browser.
  • Card info on hover. Hover over a card, or tap its small i button on a phone, to see the card art and what the card does without leaving the builder.
  • Share, post and save. Give your deck a name, then copy the link or post it straight to Reddit. Shared links show a picture of your deck with its leader, cards and rating on Reddit and Discord. You can also download the image or save the deck in your browser for later.

Community Decks: borrow a deck or show off yours

Every finished deck you share from the builder also shows up in Community Decks. There you can search by deck name, leader or card, filter by faction and leader, and sort by newest, most opened or highest rated. Each deck shows its leader, key cards, strength and rating at a glance, and one click opens it in the builder, so you can tweak it and share your own version.

Every week we go through the new decks and pick a few featured decks plus a Deck of the Week. If you’ve got a deck that beat everyone in Novigrad, now’s the time to share it.

Only for Witcher 3 Gwent

One thing worth knowing: this builder is for the Gwent you play inside The Witcher 3. The standalone GWENT: The Witcher Card Game, which CD Projekt Red released in 2018, is a separate game with its own cards, deck rules and leaders, so decks from it won’t work here. Skellige is only playable in The Witcher 3 if you own Blood and Wine.
