On their own the Etolian Auxiliary Archers only add 1 strength to the Ranged Combat row. Their value is the Medic ability: when you play them, you pick a non-hero unit from your discard pile and play it again at once. That turns one weak card into two. Its main threat is Impenetrable Fog, which drops every non-hero Ranged Combat unit to 1 strength until Clear Weather is played.
