Overview
Blood Run is the shortest main quest in Blood and Wine, but one of its most important. It follows directly from The Beast of Toussaint.
The greenhouse
Having worked out that Milton is hiding in the greenhouse in the Palace Gardens, Geralt hurries there with Anna Henrietta. They are too late: the Beast has already killed him. Geralt gives chase through Beauclair to an empty warehouse, where the Beast finally turns to face him.
The fight
The Beast teleports around the room, tries to strike from behind, and blocks and dodges like a swordsman. Dodge after each teleport and counterattack, and keep Quen up. The fight ends before either side reaches zero health, so do not let yourself drop too low.
Regis
At the last moment Regis steps in, and the Beast flees. Regis, the higher vampire Geralt thought had died at Stygga Castle, explains that the Beast is Dettlaff, the vampire who helped him regenerate after his “death”. Regis insists Dettlaff would not be killing without a reason. When knights arrive, Regis leaves, telling Geralt where they can meet. The story continues in La Cage au Fou.
