Conspiracy Theory is a main quest in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, part of Chapter 2 on Vernon Roche’s path, set in King Henselt’s Kaedweni camp. The sorcerer Dethmold summons Geralt and asks him to look into a group of soldiers plotting against Henselt, a plot that seems tied to the curse on the battlefield.
Geralt follows leads around the camp: a square coin that points him to Whistling Wendy at the brothel, a hideout where the plotters attack him on sight, and a mocking pamphlet about Henselt that turns out to be Dandelion’s work. In the hideout he also recovers Seltkirk’s chainmail from a man named Traut, which helps with lifting the curse. Roche is closely watched in the camp and cannot help openly.
After a detour searching for a missing soldier named Odrin and a fight with a draug, Geralt wakes in the brothel after three days of rest. Dandelion tells him the conspirators will meet in a hut on the cliff, where Geralt finds Roche himself leading the plot. The two hurry back to the camp, only to learn that Dethmold invited the Blue Stripes to the canteen for a meal, where they were captured and hanged. Geralt talks Roche out of immediate revenge, and they set out after Síle de Tansarville, who has fled to Vergen.
