Contract: Muire D’yaeblen is a witcher contract on Ard Skellig, near Kaer Trolde. “Muire d’yaeblen” is what the Skelligers call drowners, and the village at the foot of the castle has been plagued by some unusually aggressive ones. The local shipbuilder, Bjorg, promises Geralt a reward if he can deal with them. For a witcher, killing drowners is about as hard as breathing, so Geralt expects some easy coin.
It does not stay easy for long. The drowners come from the caves under the cliffs of Ard Skellig, and deep inside, among drowned dead and more of their kin, Geralt finds the real cause: Abaya, a water hag who has made her lair beneath the cliffs of Kjerag and has been driving the drowners on.
Water hags are tough, throw mud to blind their enemies and hit hard, so Necrophage oil and Quen are good companions. When Geralt reports back, he can push the shipbuilder for more money, which Skelligers respect, or simply take what he is offered. The contract also rewards Geralt with the relic sword Daystar.
