No Place Like Home is a main quest at Kaer Morhen and part of Ugly Baby, and it contains one of the most beloved scenes in The Witcher 3. Once Geralt has helped both Lambert and Eskel, Yennefer is ready to lift Uma’s curse. But Vesemir asks them to wait, because he wants to try his own, gentler method first. That leaves everyone with an unexpected free evening.
Eskel suggests using the time for something productive. That idea loses out quickly to a much better one: a night of drinking with the old crew. Geralt can join Lambert and Eskel for a proper witcher party, full of drinking games, old stories and very bad decisions, or he can simply go to bed. Choosing the party is highly recommended, because the drunken conversation, and what follows, is pure gold.
During the evening, Yennefer reveals her real plan. If Vesemir fails, she intends to put Uma through the Trial of the Grasses, the dangerous and painful alchemical process that turns young boys into witchers. Considering that the witchers around the table all went through it themselves, the news is not exactly welcomed.
