The Isle of Mists is the main quest where Geralt finally finds Ciri, and one of the emotional peaks of The Witcher 3. Avallac’h hid Ciri from the Wild Hunt on the magical Isle of Mists, a place that can only be reached if fate deems a traveller worthy, or, far more practically, by following a magic firefly.
Crossing the mist
Geralt sets out from Skellige by boat and follows the firefly through thick fog and treacherous waters to the island. The isle is a strange, eerie place full of ekhidnae, harpies, tangalores and other dangers, and the path to Ciri leads through a series of odd encounters that give the quest a fairy-tale feel, with a nod to a very well-known story.
Together again
At the end, Geralt finds Ciri, sleeping under a spell. After years apart, weeks of searching and countless false leads, the reunion is exactly as moving as players hope it will be. But there is no time to celebrate. As soon as Ciri wakes, the Wild Hunt picks up her trail and attacks. With no other way out, Ciri uses her powers to teleport the two of them to Kaer Morhen, where they will have to make their stand.
