Yoana is a master armorer of Clan Tordarroch from Undvik, who moved to Velen to make her way. Knowing few would believe a human woman could outdo a dwarf at the forge, she agreed to work as the “assistant” of Fergus Graem while doing all the difficult work herself. The pair started out in Mulbrydale and then set up at Crow’s Perch, where the Baron’s men gave them plenty of business. She also plays gwent with a strong Monsters deck.

In Master Armorers, a Nilfgaardian commander orders armor that can stop a crossbow bolt. Fergus says it is impossible; Yoana says it can be done with the right tools. If Geralt fetches her special tools from Skellige and helps with the test, her armor holds and Fergus’s fails. She becomes head armorer and generously keeps Fergus on as her apprentice. If things go wrong, the commander brands her a fraud, and she leaves Velen for good.
