Temerian Quarter
The Temerian Quarter is the district of Loc Muinne occupied by the Temerian delegation during the summit of mages and monarchs in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. The delegation is headed by Constable John Natalis, the most powerful of Temeria’s barons, and its camp fills an entire district of the ruined city. Diplomats come and go, but they are far outnumbered by soldiers.
That says a lot about the state of Temeria after King Foltest‘s murder. With no rightful heir, the kingdom is being pulled apart by its barons, and its neighbours are already circling. Natalis has come to Loc Muinne to argue for its future, and the soldiers are there because nobody trusts anybody.
In The Witcher 2
Geralt can visit the camp throughout Chapter 3 and ask Natalis about the situation in Temeria. On Roche‘s path, Natalis matters more: if Geralt rescues Anais La Valette in Of His Blood and Bone, he can hand Foltest’s daughter to Natalis instead of to King Radovid, and at the summit in the amphitheatre Natalis then presents her as the heir to the Temerian throne.
The quarter is also where the game ends. After the dragon and Síle have been dealt with, the kingslayer Letho sends word that he is waiting for Geralt in the Temerian quarter, and their final meeting in The Assassins of Kings takes place here. On the way, soldiers trying to collect a bounty on the witcher block the path. Letho finally explains his motives and his connection to Geralt, and the conversation can end with a duel or with Letho walking away. If Letho freed Triss from the Nilfgaardians earlier, she also turns up here.
Good to know
- The camp has two training dummies, handy for practising before the final fights.
- Which soldiers ambush Geralt on the way to Letho depends on earlier choices, such as Henselt’s fate and who received Anais.
