Superior Wolven Gauntlets

Superior Wolven Gauntlets are the upgraded hand armor of the Wolf School gear, the third of the base game’s four levels (basic, enhanced, superior and mastercrafted). They are medium armor built for a balanced build that mixes swordplay and Signs, and their headline bonus is +8% Sign intensity.

The last base-game step is the mastercrafted version, which needs these as a component, and the line ends with the Grandmaster Wolven Gauntlets in Blood and Wine. Compared with the Enhanced Wolven Gauntlets the armor rating goes from 51 to 63, and they gain an upgrade slot. The rest of the superior set: armor, trousers, boots.

How to obtain

Craft

Crafted by a journeyman armorer once you have the superior Wolven gauntlets diagram. The recipe consumes the Enhanced Wolven Gauntlets, so craft them first. Requires character level 29.

Diagram location

In a small box on an altar in the abandoned iron mine by the river southwest of Kaer Morhen, guarded by an earth elemental. It is the same mine you visit in The Witchers’ Forge.
