Malena
Malena is an elven woman in Flotsam in Chapter 1 of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Like other nonhumans there she has a hard life, and the soldiers suspect her of spying for the Scoia’tael and leading their comrades into ambushes, an accusation that could cost her life.
In The Witcher 2
In the side quest Malena, Geralt finds guards harassing her because two soldiers vanished after being seen with her. He can refuse to get involved, which ends the quest, or investigate the cave where the men disappeared. Inside he finds dead Temerian soldiers killed by Scoia’tael arrows, and he then has to decide who to blame.
The suspicion is justified. Blame the elves, and Malena leads Geralt and the soldiers into a Scoia’tael ambush and is handed over to Loredo, which likely means her death. Blame the monsters, and she is set free and asks to meet Geralt by the waterfall, where the Scoia’tael are waiting. After the fight Geralt tracks her down and decides her fate: take her to Loredo, kill her, or let her go.
