Otrygg an Hindar is the grandson of Jarl Donar an Hindar and heir to Hindarsfjall. He is the youngest of the claimants to the crown of the Skellige Isles. He and his grandfather are among the most devout families on the islands, and they cannot fathom how anyone could worship a simple flame, so they had plans, once he was crowned, to plunder the Great Temple of the Eternal Fire.

Those plans come to nothing. Otrygg puts his name forward at King Bran’s funeral feast in The King is Dead – Long Live the King and is one of the candidates killed when berserkers go on a rampage in Kaer Trolde. The truth behind his death comes out in King’s Gambit.
