Murky Waters
Murky Waters is the lakeside village where Act IV of The Witcher takes place. The village chief offers rewards for several monster hunts, and the area around it includes the Lakeside, the Fields and Black Tern Island.
In The Heat of the Day, Alina, the village chief’s daughter, has disappeared. In Free Elves, fugitives and local elves take hostages in the village, and Geralt goes there to speak with Toruviel. Ripples and Alvin are other main quests of the act tied to the village.
Monsters are a constant problem. The village chief pays for five alp fangs, for proof that the vodyan priest is dead and for the trophy of the ancient cemetaur. Drowners gather along the riverbank by the village, and contracts are also offered for a basilisk, a royal wyvern and a devourer.
