Zireael

Zireael, Elder Speech for “swallow”, is the sword Ciri carries in The Witcher 3. In the books she receives it from Leo Bonhart, and the game’s blade is named after it. The steel version is only used by Ciri during her playable sections. It has a huge +800 armor piercing, and if you oil the blade in Ciri’s Story: The King of the Wolves it also keeps a 25% attack bonus against cursed ones.

A silver sword of the same name also exists. It is one of the most personal rewards in the game.

Quest reward

Steel: equipped on Ciri. Early patches let players smuggle it to Geralt through a stash exploit around Ciri’s Story: Breakneck Speed, but patch 4.01 closed every route, so it is no longer obtainable for Geralt.

Silver: in the ending where Ciri becomes a witcher, Master Ort hands Geralt the silver Zireael at the abandoned Nilfgaardian garrison in White Orchard during Something Ends, Something Begins. It gives +25% critical damage, +5% critical chance and +5% experience from monsters, but deals no damage.

In the books & earlier games

In the saga Ciri’s sword is a gift from the bounty hunter Leo Bonhart. Zireael, “swallow” in Elder Speech, is also the elven name by which Ciri herself is known.
