Contract: The Beast of Honorton is a witcher contract in Velen. The people of Honorton, a small village on the road through No Man’s Land, have a problem only a witcher can solve. Something is haunting the woods near their village, and they have given it the unhelpful name of “spook”. Geralt decides to find out what kind of beast it really is.
The investigation shows that the spook is no ghost at all, but a group of alghouls, larger and nastier relatives of ghouls that feed on the dead and have grown bold enough to threaten the living. Alghouls are dangerous because of the spines on their backs, which make melee attacks risky when they are enraged.
Necrophage oil, the Yrden sign and Dimeritium or Dancing Star bombs help Geralt keep the pack under control. It is a straightforward contract, but a good example of how Velen’s war-torn landscape breeds monsters that feed on the dead.
