Vimme Vivaldi is a dwarf of the powerful Vivaldi banking family and director of the bank’s Novigrad branch, which under his hand became the biggest bank in the city. He is shrewd, dry-witted and not above hinting that a competitor’s warehouse might one day catch fire.

In the books

In the story “Eternal Flame” in Sword of Destiny, Vimme is the banker of his friend Dainty Biberveldt. Dainty’s business in Novigrad becomes wonderfully chaotic once a doppler, Dudu, starts trading in his name, and Vimme finds himself counting enormous profits while wondering how many Daintys he should expect.

In The Witcher 3

Years later, Vimme is still at his desk in Hierarch Square, keeping the bank profitable despite the growing persecution of nonhumans during the war. Geralt can exchange currency there (orens one to one, florens three to one) and take out loans. Vimme also plays gwent, and beating him in Gwent: Big City Players wins a Vesemir card, after which he points Geralt toward Marquise Serenity for tougher opponents. He also turns up in the Hearts of Stone quests The Taxman Cometh and Open Sesame!.
