Troll Trouble

Troll Trouble is a side quest in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, set in Chapter 1 near Flotsam and Lobinden. Bernard Loredo has posted a bounty on a local troll, and since trolls are sapient, Geralt wants to know whether the creature really deserves to die.

A farmer from Lobinden explains that the troll used to work on a river bridge but turned to drink, and asks Geralt to speak with Chorab, the village elder. Chorab wants the troll cured rather than killed. The troll reveals that his wife was murdered, and Geralt traces the killing to Dmitri, who sold her head to the poacher Sendler.

Geralt can avenge the she-troll by killing Dmitri and his bandits at the cemetery near Lobinden, after which the troll sobers up and fixes the bridge. Alternatively, he can simply kill the troll and claim the bounty from Louis Merse.

Walkthrough

  1. Read Loredo’s bounty on the troll and head for its lair.
  2. Talk to the Lobinden farmer on the forest road.

  5. Ask around Flotsam and learn from Sendler that Dmitri killed the she-troll.
  6. Talk to Dmitri’s man at the inn.
  7. Kill Dmitri and his bandits at the cemetery near Lobinden.
  8. Tell the troll, then collect the reward from Chorab.
