Lilies and Vipers is a side quest in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, taking place in Chapter 3 in Loc Muinne. Geralt rescues Brigida, a nursemaid that Roche had hired to care for Foltest’s children Boussy and Anais, from armed men pursuing her. In return for an escort to the river, she agrees to tell him what she knows.
Brigida explains that the Council of Regents sent the children to Loc Muinne. Near the Temerian border, a letter bearing Baron Kimbolt’s name told the convoy commander to change route, and the convoy was then ambushed. She gives Geralt the letter. Kimbolt insists it is forged: his official paper turns blue when treated with an activator. Geralt can brew the activator himself, and the page turns orange, proving the forgery.
The investigation centres on Baron Kimbolt and Count Maravel and ends with Geralt bringing charges before interrex John Natalis. Geralt can accuse Maravel, Kimbolt or both, and the accused party’s rival rewards him.
