Superior Ursine Armor

Superior Ursine Armor is the upgraded chest piece of the Bear School gear, the third of the base game’s four levels (basic, enhanced, superior and mastercrafted). It is heavy armor built for a tanky build that takes hits and fights back, and its headline bonus is +15% Adrenaline Point gain.

The last base-game step is the mastercrafted version, which needs this one as a component, and the line ends with the Grandmaster Ursine Armor in Blood and Wine. Compared with the Enhanced Ursine Armor the armor rating goes from 160 to 185, and it gains an upgrade slot. The rest of the superior set: gauntlets, trousers, boots.

The matching blades from the same tier are the Superior Ursine Steel Sword and the Superior Ursine Silver Sword.

How to obtain

Craft

Crafted by a journeyman armorer once you have the superior Ursine armor diagram. The recipe consumes the Enhanced Ursine Armor, so craft it first. Requires character level 30.

In the books & earlier games

Diagram location

All four Superior Ursine armor diagrams are in a nekker cave north of Mulbrydale, not far from the Hanged Man’s Tree in Velen. Keep to the left wall inside; the chest is in a dead end a few steps in.
