Alvin

Alvin is a young boy Geralt first meets in Act I in the Outskirts of Vizima. During Of Monsters and Men, when beasts attack a woman and her child, the frightened boy falls into a trance and speaks a prophecy, which sends Geralt to the Reverend for answers. As part of Witchers’ Secrets, Alvin also tells Geralt that the bandits often talked about Vizima, pointing the hunt for Salamandra toward the city.

Salamandra takes an interest in him as well. In Berengar’s Secret, Geralt learns that the Professor sent Berengar out to find the boy. In Act III, during The Source, Triss traces a wave of magical anomalies to a child at St. Lebioda’s Hospital who may carry the Elder Blood, and both Triss and Shani want Geralt to bring him to them. Before that is settled, Alvin is kidnapped. In The Unforgiven, Triss will only help against Salamandra once the matter of the boy is settled and he is safe.

In Act IV Geralt finds him again in the quest Alvin, living with a village woman named Alina. His warnings and dreams play a part in The Heat of the Day. When a fight breaks out, his fear and magic teleport him away. In the Epilogue, during Frozen Reflections, Geralt glimpses Alvin’s spirit.
