Caleb Menge is commander of the Temple Guard and leader of the witch hunters in Novigrad, the men who hunt down and burn mages in the name of the Church of the Eternal Fire. He is as greedy as he is fanatical.
In The Witcher 3
While searching for Ciri and Dandelion, Geralt learns that Menge has captured the bard and made off with the treasure stolen from Sigi Reuven. In Count Reuven’s Treasure, Triss comes up with a daring plan: Geralt brings her in as a prisoner in fake dimeritium shackles to win an audience with Menge at the witch hunters’ outpost.
If Geralt keeps his cool, Menge shows him around, until Triss, sickened by the torture going on next door, kills him. Among his belongings they find the key to Dijkstra’s gold. If Geralt provokes the guards instead, the plan falls apart in a fight.
