The Ubbizi Townhouse, better known as Triss Merigold’s house, stands in the Hierarch Square district of Novigrad, and it is the first place Geralt looks for her after arriving in the city. When he gets there, two looters are picking through the courtyard, and the house has clearly been abandoned in a hurry. It is a quiet, uneasy scene set against a city that is burning sorceresses in the square nearby.

In the main quest Pyres of Novigrad, the looters tell Geralt that Triss may have fled to the Putrid Grove, where the King of Beggars holds court and where not even the Temple Guard dares to go. Captain Menge and his men show up while Geralt is still there, and Menge makes it very clear that he wants to find the sorceress who lived here.
