The Ford is a shallow river crossing on the road east of White Orchard village, where the track splashes straight through two small tributaries of the Ismena. Reeds, stones and slow brown water make it an easy crossing for a horse and a miserable one for a cart.

This is where Geralt and Vesemir first run into the griffin that is terrorising the region, busy devouring a horse. The streams around the ford are also home to drowners, so it pays to cross with a sword in hand. The griffin hunt itself ends at the mill in The Beast of White Orchard.
