Suspect: Thorak is a Chapter 2 quest in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, set in Vergen on Iorveth’s path and part of the investigation into Saskia’s poisoning. During the tense gathering at the town hall, the dwarves explain that the goblet Vergen presented to Saskia was a special commission, so if poison was in it, the cup must have been swapped for a copy. The only craftsman in town able to make such a replica is Thorak, the runesmith.
Thorak flatly denies everything, though he is suspiciously unfond of the original goblet. The truth only comes out after the events of Baltimore’s Nightmare: with Thorak dead and his key in hand, Geralt can open the small chest by his bed and find a receipt from the priest Olcan for the replica goblet, a key piece of evidence in the case against Prince Stennis.
