Count Reuven’s Treasure is a main quest in Novigrad and one of the best-written investigations in The Witcher 3. Geralt knows that just before he disappeared, Dandelion had been planning to rob Sigi Reuven, one of the most powerful men in the city. Asking about it without giving the game away is a tall order, because Geralt is a great witcher but a lousy actor.
An old acquaintance
Sigi Reuven turns out to be Sigismund Dijkstra, the former head of Redanian intelligence and an old acquaintance of Geralt’s. Dijkstra has no idea Dandelion was involved in the robbery and offers Geralt a generous reward for finding his gold and the thief who took it. So both men are looking for the same person, for very different reasons, and Geralt takes the job while hoping Dijkstra never catches on.
Following the heist
The investigation leads through the sewers under the bathhouse, where drowners lurk, to the house of Dandelion’s accomplice Henckel, and then to a witch hunters’ outpost. There, Geralt learns that Dandelion was arrested by the Temple Guard and is being held for execution. Depending on his choices, Geralt may come face to face with Captain Caleb Menge, the man behind the pyres, and settle things with him for good. Back at the bathhouse, Dijkstra is waiting for his report, and the conversation can end in several very different ways.
