Courage Symbolized is a Chapter 2 side quest in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings on the Roche path, set in King Henselt’s Kaedweni camp. It is one of the artifact hunts feeding into The Eternal Battle: to lift the curse and the deadly mist over the old battlefield, Geralt needs four objects that embody the essence of war, and this one must stand for courage.
The quest begins automatically when the sorcerer Dethmold explains the ritual during Conspiracy Theory. Asking around the camp points to Seltkirk, a famed Kaedweni hero, and his armor, which has ended up on the back of Vinson Traut, a cutthroat in the plot against Henselt. The armor only changes hands one way: Geralt has to kill Traut when the conspiracy comes to a head and pull it off his body.
