Overview
What Lies Unseen is a main quest on Orianna’s path in Blood and Wine, following Blood Simple. Geralt and Regis go to Hen Gàidh to ask the Unseen Elder to summon Dettlaff.
A cold welcome
Regis opens the sealed door with the key from Orianna. Inside, past a fleder, a side ledge leads to a chest with the Hen Gaidth gauntlets and steel sword. When they reach the Elder, he wants no visitors and flings Geralt deep into the cave. Pick up your swords and gear, which fell with you, and drink the healing potion lying nearby.
An upside-down cave
This part of Hen Gàidh bends the rules: water flows in strange directions, and at one point Geralt walks on the ceiling. Footprints and a dead mage’s notes guide the way. Along the route are protofleders, the megascope the mage used, and two more chests completing the Hen Gaidth armor set. By the mage’s body lies the silver sword Cantata, and next to it a rose-colored stone: an offering for the Elder. Aard shifts a large stone to create a step, and an upward-flowing waterfall carries Geralt back.
Speaking to the Elder
The Elder accepts the offering, but his patience is thin. Ask only one side question, since a second one gets Geralt killed. When he asks again, the only safe answer is that Dettlaff spells trouble for him. The Elder then agrees to force Dettlaff to meet them at Tesham Mutna, which leads to Tesham Mutna.
