A Poet Under Pressure is the main quest that finally brings Dandelion back into the story. After being cornered with Ciri on Temple Isle, the bard was caught by the Temple Guard and thrown into the dungeons. Now he is to be moved to Deireadh, the infamous prison near Oxenfurt, to await his execution. Geralt, Zoltan, Dudu and their friends have other plans.
The ambush
The quest opens with preparations for an ambush on the prisoner transport, and Geralt has to make sure everyone is in position. When the convoy rolls in, the plan only half works. In the chaos of the fight against the witch hunters and guards, one of them throws Dandelion over his horse and gallops off.
Finding the bard
Geralt follows the trail to an isolated hut, where Dandelion, being Dandelion, is already halfway through talking his way out of trouble. Geralt bursts in and frees him in his usual blunt but effective style, and the reunion between the two old friends is one of the warmest scenes in the game. Back at the Rosemary and Thyme, Dandelion tells his side of the story, which plays out as Ciri’s Story: Breakneck Speed.
