Contract: The Phantom of Eldberg

A ghost haunts the lighthouse on Eldberg, and since its light went out, no ship can safely reach Arinbjorn after dark.

Contract: The Phantom of Eldberg is a witcher contract on Ard Skellig. The village of Arinbjorn has a wraith problem. The ghost haunts the rocky islet of Eldberg, a barren place of no interest to anyone except for its lighthouse. The lighthouse went dark at the same time the phantom appeared, and without it, sailing into Arinbjorn harbour at night has become almost impossible.

Geralt’s task is to chase off the phantom and find out what happened to the lighthouse keeper. The quest can start by talking to Jorund in Arinbjorn or by exploring the lighthouse on his own. The investigation uncovers a tragic story behind the haunting, and the wraith turns out to be a penitent, a powerful ghost bound to the place by guilt.

Penitents are hard to fight because they turn invisible and immaterial, so the Yrden sign and Specter oil are essential. With the phantom gone, the light can burn again over Eldberg.
