The Vegelbud Residence is a large country estate east of Novigrad and north of the village of Carsten, home to one of the city’s oldest noble families. The Vegelbuds like to say their line goes back to the days when the first human settlers arrived in these lands, and the grand manor, well-kept grounds and private racetrack make sure nobody forgets it. The main estate is usually closed to visitors, so seeing it from the inside takes the right invitation.

The family is famous for two things: lavish banquets talked about across the region, and a horse race held in memory of Erasmus Vegelbud. Geralt can enter it himself in Race: The Great Erasmus Vegelbud Memorial Derby.

The estate also plays a part in several quests. In A Matter of Life and Death, Geralt escorts Triss to the Vegelbuds’ masquerade ball, and Carnal Sins brings him back to the grounds, the only time the interior can be explored. The residence also appears in the main quest Broken Flowers.
